Right now we are having an exclusive trunk show with one of our favorite designers, Gurhan. His designs are exquisite!
Gurhan’s metals of choice are 24 karat gold and sterling silver. He is known as the man who changed how contemporary fine jewelry was made. After this unofficial honor, the 24 karat gold trend launched as a popular metal for fine jewelry everywhere.
Gurhan likes to mix metals like silver and gold. It has been said that his sterling silver designs are “kissed” with 24 karat gold. He uses an ancient jewelry technique to design his pieces. He studied techniques that goldsmiths were using 7000 years ago. He hammers everything by hand and creates his own style for each piece of jewelry. By using this classic method, it hardens the 24 karat gold. Gurhan also has a flair for taking ancient artifacts like thousand-year-old mosaics and transplanting them into pieces of jewelry like rings and necklaces.
Celebs have also been spotted wearing his pieces. From Sheryl Crow to Sandra Bullock, you are sure to see Gurhan’s beautiful work on the red carpet during events.
The trunk show goes on until the end of December so stop by or make an appointment! We would love to show you some of our favorite pieces.
Thank you to everyone who came out to the Sidewalk Sale this year! We had a blast. But you may have been wondering why we were dressed up in football gear over the weekend… and it’s because we want to announce our FIRST EVER Fantasy Football League!
We would love for you to play with us! If you want to join our league send an email to email@example.com and she will send you the details. Not sure how to play fantasy football? No problem. Elizabeth will be sending out a handy fantasy football guide created for just you. And don’t worry, it will be fun! We will pick our players at the end of August and we will have an end of the season party in February to announce the winners! (With fabulous prizes!)
Keep a look out in your email for a special trunk show featuring Honora Pearls, too. We don’t want to give too much away, but it will be football themed.
We are SO ready for some football here at the store, how about you!?
With the annual Between the Bluffs Beer, Wine and Cheese Festival tomorrow, Elizabeth and I have had beer, wine and… you guessed it, cheese on our minds all week. What better place than Wisconsin to celebrate a trio of my favorite things! To quench our thirst and satisfy our appetites we headed to the perfect place last night after work, The Wine Guyz, for some local cheeses and my favorite wine.
Although I won’t be able to make it to the fest this year, I hope many of you already have your tickets! It is such a great way to support local breweries, wineries and creameries. There will be over 45 local vendors serving up delicious beer, wine and cheese. YUM. After tasting a few things, I am sure you are going to want to bring some goodies home to share with your family and friends (or not). TOC has the perfect serveware and drinkware to present all your new favorite indulgences. I kind of have an obsession with really nice cheese boards and great stemware. It somehow makes the wine and cheese taste that much better! Check out some of our favorites:
These J.K. Adams cutting boards are so fun! They are all beautifully handcrafted and made to last. J.K. Adams believes in their products as “kitchen heirlooms” that should be cherished and passed down. You really cannot go wrong with any of these great pieces.
Did you know Nora Flemming customizable serveware also makes cutting boards?! They are so beautiful. I love the stand alone pieces with the Nora Flemming mini attachments, and the cutting board insert for the round serving platter is so versatile. If you aren’t familiar with Nora Flemming, these serving pieces all have interchangeable “minis.” Each mini has a different theme, so you can customize your serveware for any occasion. Seriously, how did I not think of that first?… genius.
Now that you have a way to present the cheese, you’ll need a way to cut the cheese! :) hehe…. Anyway, these colorful knife sets by Claude Dozorme are a great way to finish off that perfect cheese board. They come in an assortment of colors and include three different styles. Don’t be fooled by their fun appearance, these are some seriously nice knives. They stay sharp and last forever.
Now for the perfect accompaniment to your cheese board, wine! I love all the wine accessories made by Simon Pearce. They are simple, elegant, timeless and durable. The wine coaster is great for presenting any bottle of wine and keeping your table and counter drip-free. The Cavendish red wine glass and Madison decanter are also show stoppers for sure! Simon Pearce glass is just so beautifully crafted, you can literally feel the quality. And talk about heirlooms… these pieces are meant to be handed down.
I hope I didn’t make you too hungry, but seriously, go get some beer, wine and cheese, and support local business. It’s fun and delicious! And on another note, don’t forget we are still hosting the Lisette trunk show and have tons of new merchandise to share with you. Stop in this weekend and say hello :)
Guess who just got back from a long weekend in Chicago? This girl :) I spent the last five days dining, drinking, sight-seeing and most importantly, shopping! My biggest take-away from this mini vaca was this: You don’t have to go to the big city to shop like you’re in the big city. I was blown away at the number of designers I saw that we carry right here at TOC. Everywhere we went women were dressed in Eileen Fisher, Comfy, NIC + ZOE, and AGL shoes. Usually after a trip like this, I would be bringing home bags and bags of goodies from all the wonderful shopping spots. Not this time. I honestly did not buy one single thing! Why would I when I can get the same looks, or better right at home? Here are some of my fav designers I saw in Chicago that we carry at TOC:
Eileen Fisher has been a staple here at TOC for many years. We love the simplistic designs and chic aesthetics the line always has to offer. The newest pieces to add to your summer wardrobe include this jewel bateau-neck dress, linen crepe short sleeve cardigan, organic cotton flared skirt and bateau-neck shell. Perfect for layering, and dressing up or down.
I wasn’t even looking for Melissa Joy Manning Jewelry, but I turned around at Nordstrom and I noticed a beautiful display of gorgeous jewelry. Turns out it was Melissa Joy Manning! We began carrying this line about a year ago and it is one of my favorites. Manning creates artistic and delicate pieces using sterling silver, 14k gold, druzys, semi-precious stones, and oxidized silver. Her designs are organic, yet sophisticated. We love her two toned cuff bracelets and unique use of stones. If you haven’t yet, you definitely need to check it out next time you’re in!
You’ve heard me gush over AGL shoes before, and I’m going to do it, again. These shoes are seriously hard to beat on quality, design, comfort and versatility. Every pair is handmade in Italy and the materials, colors, leathers and hardware are all made to our specifications. Even though I saw a large display of AGL shoes at Nordstrom in Chicago, not a single pair was exactly identical to one of ours. How cool is that?! Shopping AGL shoes at TOC means that you will have a one-of-a-kind design unique to our store.
We are so excited to be carrying Mephisto shoes. They are a must-have for summer. You have not experienced comfort until you’ve walked a mile in a Mephisto. These shoes are handmade by master shoe makers in Portugal and France and have been around for over 50 years. These shoes are meant to be worn, walked in and loved… a lot. Come in and try them on, you will be hooked!
Speaking of comfort… I am SO glad I wore my favorite Lisette pants on the 5 hour drive to Chicago. Not only did I see tons of Lisette- style pants while I was in Chicago, but I also saw them at many of the great boutiques downtown. This weekend TOC is hosting a Lisette trunk show. This is so exciting because you don’t have to drive the big city to shop the entire collection from Lisette, we are going to have it available for you to try right here in our store starting this Thursday! We would love for you to make an appointment or just stop in. Just for trying on a pair of Lisette pants, you will be entered for a chance to win a credit of $125 toward Lisette merchandise! Call us at (608) 784-2640, we hope to see you there.
Although we may have a ways to go, it seems spring is just around the corner! The sun is bright and warm, and the snow is melting fast. We suggest you get a head start on that spring shopping before everyone else beats you to it. That is why we are so excited to announce we will be hosting a Joan Vass trunk show this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday! If you’ve never experienced a trunk show at TOC, you really need to check this out. We will be previewing the entire Joan Vass spring 2015 collection before it has even hit the stores. You will have the opportunity to order any of the fabulous pieces before anyone else.
We are especially excited because TOC has not carried the Joan Vass line in the past, and it is the perfect compliment to the spring arrivals we have recieved from some of our other favorite brands. We hope you love it as much as we do! Joan Vass has been creating beautiful and luxurious knitwear for over thirty years. The collections feature classic silhouettes in comfortable fabrics for an understated elegance. Joan Vass epitomizes the modern woman, these collections are timeless, chic and uniquely American. We cannot wait to share this line with you! Here is a little sneak peak….
Love, love, love, AND LOVE! Gorgeous, simple, classic, and elegant! If you would like to join us, we would love to set up an appointment to show you the entire collection. Call us at 608-784-2640. The trunk show will be available this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. We will be open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on Thursday and Friday, and 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday. We also have a little gift to say “Thank You” for any qualifying purchase! This is a great opportunity to see a line that is brand new to TOC. We are super excited to host such a fabulous collection and cannot wait to get you ready for spring!
Wow this year flew by so fast! I cannot believe that Christmas is right around the corner. I got a head start on Christmas shopping, but if I don’t pick it up a notch, I’m going to be scrambling to get it all done! TOC has a gift for all of your special someones. Although the 12 days of Christmas technically begin after Christmas, I wanted to show you 12 days of gifts from TOC that would be perfect to put under that tree. Sing it with me now…
On the first day of Christmas, TOC gave to me.. Gurhan Jewelry!
We love this one of a kind faceted Aquamarine ring set in 24k hammered yellow gold. It pairs perfectly with these Phoenician drop earrings with oval cabochon green chalcedony stones… so gorgeous! Like what you see? Well… we are also very excited to announce that we will be kicking off a Gurhan trunk show this Thursday for our first ever Jewels of the Night event! Gurhan is sending us their very best pieces to show off to you. We cannot wait, you will be blown away. This is the perfect night to let us help you create a wish list, or to buy yourself a little early Christmas gift ;) We hope you can make it!
Make sure you stay tuned to read about the rest of the 12 days of TOC Christmas! And don’t be afraid to make an appointment for Thursday to ensure you get to see your favorite pieces up close and personal!
I have missed you! So sorry it has been so long since my last post. TOC has been busier than ever! Last weekend we celebrated Krazy Daze, a downtown La Crosse tradition during which local businesses pull out the best deals of the year! It was, as the name implies, crazy! But we had a blast, so THANK YOU to everyone who braved the crowds and came down for our sale.
Now on to the next event! Today starts our NIC + ZOE Trunk Show! The TOC gals have been drooling all week over the gorgeous pieces we’ve received from Nic + Zoe and we cannot wait to share them with you.
I’ve given you a teeny tiny sneak peak with the photo above. Look at all that navy! I don’t want to say I told you so, but….;) You really have to come down and check it out, the trunk show will end August 9th, so don’t wait too long!
One more really exciting super duper fantastic announcement!!!! I will be joining TOC’s store owner Kim, as well as the store manager Kay, on an adventure down to Chicago for market! We will be searching for fabulous new pieces for next spring, as well as seeking out our favorites. What’s even better?! We will be heading to Chicago on my birthday. I could not ask for a better birthday weekend. Chicago, fashion, friends, and the experience of a lifetime! LOOK OUT CHICAGO, Shopgirl is about to take you by storm! Don’t worry, I will keep you all updated, so don’t forget to check back next weekend.
Is everyone all ready for the weekend? As I’ve mentioned before, it is going to be super busy here in La Crosse! We are all looking forward to Artspire which kicks off tomorrow night, and a few of us are also going to the 7th annual Freedom Fest on Saturday night. Freedom Fest honors our veterans and fallen heroes by raising money for veteran causes and scholarships. This year the event will be featuring Gary Sinese and the LT. Dan Band, Huey Lewis and the News, and The Remainders! On top of that, Touch of Class would like to add one more event to your calendar. We are super excited to be hosting a Réve Jewelry trunk show until June 21st. If you are not familiar with Réve, you ought to be. It is a whimsical, handcrafted, artisan jewelry line featuring sterling silver, semi-precious and precious gemstones, 14K and 18K gold.
Réve, meaning “Dream” in French, was started in 1984 by Don and Elizabeth Buck in Pheonix, Arizona. Both Don and Elizabeth had extensive experience in art, design, metalsmithing, retail, and manufacturing. They decided to make their dreams of an original jewelry line a reality. Their work is truly amazing, every single piece is designed, handcrafted, set and finished by only 4 hands!
You should really take advantage of this trunk show because you won’t be finding Réve anywhere else nearby. It is an extremely exclusive jewelry line, In fact, it is by simple chance that TOC even carries it. You see, TOC and Réve go way back! Kim just happened to meet Elizabeth in Arizona nearly 25 years ago. Kim was immediately impressed with the unique craftsmanship Réve had to offer. The two have since become good friends and Kim could not be happier with the wonderful work Elizabeth and Don have done for TOC. All of the Réve that we carry has been designed specifically for our store with TOC in mind. Our trunk show, however, is your chance to check out pieces from the entire Réve collection! This is a great opportunity to discover all of what Réve has to offer.
Here is a little sneak peak at some of the goodies we will be featuring! (Obviously I have a calling in photography.. am I right??)
You just have to see this druzy necklace in person! The stone is so sparkly and the combination of colors is absolutely stunning. The more you look at this piece, the more little details you will notice, as with many of their pieces. The craftsmanship and care put into each piece is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It is a true art form.
I’ve always been drawn to Réve rings. They often feature large, colorful gemstones with hand-etched bands. Again, the detail is unrivaled. I’m in love with these sky blue topaz stacking rings, what a fun set!
I’m loving their use of mixed metals and different combinations of gemstones. This beryl and pearl cuff looks gorgeous set in gold, and the sunrise topaz goes so well with the amethyst accents in the sterling silver cuff.
Wow! I have never seen anything quite like this biwa pearl necklace. This is what I call a statement piece, simply gorgeous!! Now that you’ve had a taste of Réve, you’ll have to explore these, and many more fantastic pieces, in-store through the 21st! Hurry in, this is a busy weekend for downtown and the best pieces are sure to go fast. I’m keeping my eye on those delicious Sky Blue Topaz stacking rings:) Have a fantabulous weekend! Go out and immerse yourself in the rich culture that is so unique to La Crosse. We hope to see you soon!
