On the fifth day of Christmas, Touch of Class gave to me… White+Warren Travel Wraps!
We love cashmere and especially when it turns cold and snowy – which is usually by this time of year! You always can see one of us wrapped in a cashmere wrap when we leave the store. We have a lot of different wraps in stock right now from White+Warren and 360 Cashmere. We love that it can be used in so many ways like as a scarf, a shawl, a pillow (while traveling!) or blanket.
Celebrities are always spotted wearing these cozy, versatile wraps and after you feel how soft and warm they are, you won’t be caught without one either!
If travel wraps aren’t your style, we have beautiful cashmere ponchos, toppers, and sweaters by White+Warren and 360 Cashmere in the store too!
We are obsessed! These are truly works of art. Starting as a fine artist, Stetson decided to present one of his paintings as a handbag in 2003 and the rest is history. Michelle Williams, Bethanny Frankel, and Michelle Kwan have all been seen carrying his pieces.
Each clutch is made with canvas, has a 3-D element to them and is signed by the designer. They can be worn with or without the chain. It’s perfect for that fashionista who loves to make a statement!
It would be the perfect addition to your Christmas party look!
This holiday serve ware is perfect for entertaining your holiday company. The pieces all feature a nostalgic holiday scene that is sure to be the talk of your Christmas dinner. It could also make the perfect gift for entertaining! Each piece is beautifully wrapped in a holiday box – which makes wrapping much easier!
We LOVE Monica Rich Kosann and it seems to be a trend in magazines over the course of the year. Featured in Elle, Cosmopolitan, Harper’s Bazaar, and InStyle, Monica Rich Kosann is the perfect gift for this holiday season. We have an assortment of gold and sterling silver that is sure to make the person you’re buying the gift for feel special. These pieces are meant to be passed down through generations, so why don’t you start a beautiful holiday tradition? These lockets are simple, timeless, and beautiful and I’m sure we would be able to find the best one for the perfect Christmas present.
Tonight is the perfect night to start holiday shopping too because we are open late until 8! Tonight is Men’s Night – but don’t worry – we want to see everyone! It’s your turn to make a wishlist and get everything you want for Christmas.
It’s that time of year again – time for us to sing one of our favorite Christmas songs and give you some gift ideas in the process! The 12 Days of Christmas isn’t technically until after the holiday, but we couldn’t wait to share some of our best gifts from Touch of Class!
🎵 Sing it with me! 🎵

Thank you to all who attended our Holiday Open House. We had a fabulous, fun-filled Friday evening. You may have wondered who the new face around the store is and we are thrilled to introduce you to our newest employee, Markie!
Markie is no stranger to the Coulee Region or Downtown La Crosse. While attending UW-La Crosse as an English major, she worked as a receptionist at Orange Pearl Salon located downtown. After graduation, she spent 3 1/2 years in the Minneapolis area. Markie and her boyfriend, Dan, decided that it was time to come back to La Crosse. She attributes the move to the beautiful scenery and finally being closer to friends and family.
Markie is delighted to be back working in downtown La Crosse and is already loving the atmosphere at the store. She enjoys styling outfits for clients and using her newfound favorite designers like Nocturne and Honora Pearls to accessorize.
Markie is excited to meet all of you, so stop down to introduce yourself and join us for one of our many events planned for the holiday season!
You may have noticed a new face at Touch of Class again and we are so happy to introduce you all to our newest employee, Katie!
Katie attended school at UW-La Crosse and majored in Sociology. But after graduating college, she moved back to the Appleton area to find a job. Katie always knew that she would live in La Crosse someday. After 12 years of working with non-profits, she and her husband were ready for a change of scenery. They couldn’t be happier with their decision and cannot wait to explore what the Coulee Region has to offer.
Katie is ecstatic to be working with fashion. Her love of fashion stemmed from college and finding her unique style. She always had friends and family asking her fashion advice – even when she was across the state.
After a week of working at Touch of Class, Katie has already had a chance to meet some of you and is loving the interaction that she has been having with everyone. She is excited for what is to come including our Holiday Events and building even stronger relationships with clients.
We love Katie’s positive attitude and cannot wait to start introducing her to all of you!
Did you hear that we are spotlighting denim this week? We are fully stocked with jeans from Liverpool, Lafayette 148 NY, and Spanx. We are also introducing our newest denim line, Beija Flor. O! Magazine is calling them the “miracle jean.” We are falling in love with them… they fit like a dream.
Caring for your new denim is a breeze and we suggest following these simple tips and tricks to keep your new threads in fabulous shape!
Do not wash your jeans too often. (Yes, you heard us correctly!) Washing your jeans makes the fibers break down faster. The agitating of the spin cycle and the harshness of the detergent speeds up the breakdown process. We recommend washing them no more than once a week at most.We also recommend using the Laundress Fabric Refresh between washes.
Wash your jeans inside out and with cold water. When you do need to wash your jeans, turn them inside out and wash them with like colors. Washing them in cold water helps keep the dye from fading.
Can I put my jeans in the dryer? We get this question a lot. While we do not recommend it, be sure to dry on low as high heat breaks down the fiber. It is best to be safe and lay them flat to dry.
Store your jeans folded. It helps them keep their shape. Hanging may cause unwanted distress.
With these helpful hints we hope you get the most wear out of your denim. We also hope to see you at the Denim Event this week! We are here to help you find new jeans that you love, and love to wear!
We cannot get enough of Elliott Lauren’s new collection and we are delighted to have it in the store for the fall season! Elliott Lauren has been on trend for forty-five years and does not seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
In the 1970s, Elliott Lauren’s main goal was to have a line of apparel that was right on trend but still had the quality and fit that his customer wanted. Lauren wanted fashion to be understandable, acceptable and interesting to his customer. Over four decades later, Elliott Lauren is still achieving this overall goal.
This signature Elliott Lauren look keeps adapting and morphing with the current trends. The successful collections had an “arm factor” also known as something that a customer would reach for to pair with other items. With this attitude, the Elliott Lauren signature look stays true.
This is a great jacket for crisp fall days! The buffalo plaid print is so on trend for the season and the length is perfect! Pair it with a basic top, dark wash skinny jeans (check the website soon for details to our Denim Event!) and booties – you have the perfect fall outfit.
This zip cargo pant in army green is a classic look for the cooler temps. The fabric is so soft and looks great with a pair of black boots! We also have this rib sweater available to complete this look.
Elliott Lauren commented on his success with “Elliott Lauren is positioned perfectly on the crossover point between fashion & practicality… Elliott Lauren is a mindset, not a trend.” We can’t wait to see what the new collections have in store for Touch of Class!
It’s finally cold enough to talk about one of our favorite things about Fall! We are so excited for the cashmere pieces by 360 Cashmere, Belford, Repeat and White+Warren! But we always have questions about how to care for cashmere…
Owning cashmere is not as daunting as everyone makes it out to be! It may be mislabeled as “dry clean only.” But did you know that not all cashmere needs to be taken to the dry cleaners? What we recommend is using The Laundress and we carry it at Touch of Class!
Here are the steps to have fabulous looking cashmere:
To pretreat and remove stains, we suggest using the Wash & Stain Bar. This bar works great on underarm and collar stains.
Handwashing is the best and safest way to care for your favorite items. We recommend using Wool & Cashmere Shampoo.
Mix it into the water, turn the item you want to wash inside out, and let it sit in the water for up to 30 minutes. After that initial time, rinse well with room temperature water until the water is no longer soapy. DO NOT WRING!
Woolens are best dried while they lay flat. Place the item on top of a flat drying rack or towel and arrange it to it’s original shape. DO NOT PUT IT IN THE DRYER!
Pilling is so annoying! We love using the Sweater Comb to keep the sweater looking its best. To de-pill knits, gently glide the comb in one direction across the pilled area.
When storing your items, do notstore them in plastic. Cashmere stores best in breathable cotton bags. We recommend refreshing your items with Fabric Fresh spray.
Wearing cashmere is not as hard as one makes it out to be! Just make sure to take these precautions and you will be ready to wear (and wash) your beautiful sweaters during the colder months!
Until next time – stay sassy and classy (and warm)!
